lost-hope.net was purchased on the 13th April 2006. It was registered with Godaddy for one year to begin with.
The Name
Believe it or not I didn't just randomly pull the name out of a hat. It has a very interesting story about it. It all started in a science lab at school when me and 2 of my friends decided to make a list of all the possible names I might want. I'd been wanting a domain for ages and so I decided to plan ahead and get an idea of what I wanted it to be called.
After we made the list, I went through it and crossed off any inappropriate ones, taking things such as length and originality into account. I kept crossing off names using this method until I was left with 3 names - silent-whispers.net, silent-tears.net and last-hope.net. I decided that silent-whispers was just the right name for me and so when I got home, I checked its availability.
Unfortunately, it was taken and so I was forced to choose silent-tears instead. I checked the availability of that one and soon discovered that that too was taken. For a third time, I checked the availability of last-hope; it turned out that it really was my last hope! Sadly, that too was taken.
In the end, I had lost hope completely and out of pure frustration I checked the availability of lost-hope just for the hell of it. To my utter surprise, it was available. I decided to waste no time in registering it for myself XD
